Treating every sin the same can lead you wrong in either direction.
I’ve heard people shrug off their own gossip because ‘it’s no worse than anything else’ and I’ve watched others spiral into despair, convinced a white lie made them as guilty as a murderer. 1 John 5:16-17 (sin that leads to death, sin that doesn’t) gets at this too.
