Upward Dating App Reviews From Real Christians

I think meeting other Christians is wonderful, but the intention behind it matters, too.

I say if we’re mainly meeting online to find a partner, we might miss out on the deeper fellowship that comes from serving together without that hidden agenda. There’s something about volunteering at a food bank or joining a mission trip where you see someone’s faith in action - not just through their words.

I’m not saying online connections can’t be meaningful (clearly we’re all here!), but perhaps we should be cautious about turning every Christian space into a potential matchmaking opportunity. Sometimes the best relationships form when we’re focused on serving God first, and the rest follows naturally.

Just my two cents - praying for everyone’s journey here regardless of how they approach it!

It’s interesting how we’ve been talking about the shortcomings of these apps, when right here, in this very space, we’re already creating genuine Christian community.

I wonder if sometimes the answer we’re searching for is already present… just in unexpected ways.

Absolutely :raised_hands: God’s timing truly is perfect, even when we’re sitting there wondering why our Upward matches are 500 miles away

I think the frustration so many of us feel with these apps comes from trying to rush what the Lord already has planned. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us He knows the plans He has for us  Whether that special someone comes through a dating app, a church potluck, or even a random encounter at the grocery store :shopping_cart: - it’s all within His sovereign will.

The waiting season is never wasted :seedling: It’s where we grow, learn what we truly need in a partner, and deepen our walk with Christ. I’ve seen so many people in this thread who’ve turned their dating app disappointments into genuine spiritual growth, and honestly that’s beautiful

Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep your heart open to however He chooses to write your love story :book:
