I also don’t go to church, as I’m new to faith, and have not made that move yet. I don’t think you necessarily need to go to church as such, but I agree with you that solitude can be a bit risky. More than ever you are at risk from temptation when you decide to follow the Lord, because evil doesn’t like that. It wants to destroy God’s plan for you . Being connected with people of faith is obviously going to be very helpful, and is a way to meet new friends as well. When we need to pray it is also important, if we look at Matthew 18-20 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, I am with them.”
The power of prayer is intensified by the amount of people gathered and their faith. If many people with great faith are gathered I believe the success of that prayer being answered is very high. One person praying, whose faith is not so strong, not so much so. Of course you can pray with people online, but I think the in-person experience is far greater provided faith among the congregation is strong.
