Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. Romans 12:2-3

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:13

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age. Titus 2:11-12

But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 1 Thessalonians 5:8

I’ve been struggling with sobriety lately and feeling pretty lost. These prayer points give me hope that maybe God can help me find my way back, even though I’m not sure I deserve it.

Wow, these prayer points really hit home (been there, done that). It’s amazing how powerful prayer can be when you’re battling addiction (feels like a lifeline sometimes).

Focusing on God’s strength instead of my own weakness makes all the difference (it’s not about willpower, it’s about His power). Staying sober is a daily choice, but with faith and support, it’s possible to overcome and find joy in a clean life (one day at a time, right?).

Pray as though everything depended on God; work as though everything depended on you - Saint Augustine

The journey to sobriety reminds me of the parable of the lost sheep, where Jesus leaves the 99 to find the one. Just as the shepherd never gave up, we must persist in our struggle against addiction, knowing that God is always seeking to bring us back to His fold.

Like the prodigal son, we may stumble, but our Father eagerly awaits our return with open arms. Through prayer and faith, we can find the strength to overcome, just as David faced Goliath with unwavering trust in the Lord.
