I’ve been studying Matthew’s Gospel lately, and this video opened my eyes to some fantastic connections I hadn’t noticed before. The way it breaks down the parallel between Jesus and Moses and how Matthew carefully structured his account around five teaching sections gave me a new appreciation for this Gospel.
I love how Matthew intentionally shows Jesus as the promised Messiah and “God with us.”
For anyone else who wants to understand Matthew’s Gospel and its connection to the broader biblical story, this is truly a blessing (especially if you’re maybe teaching with younger children?). Thank you, Jesus, for inspiring and providing helpful resources that bring Your Word to life.

I loved how the video showed Matthew’s genius in building anticipation. His carefully placing those teaching sections reminded me of climbing a mountain, with each step revealing more of Jesus’s identity. The parallel between the Sermon on the Mount and Moses receiving the Law hit differently when I saw it visualized, making me appreciate how Matthew was helping his Jewish audience recognize Jesus as the promised One they’d been waiting for.
I’m going to send this to my prayer group for the weekend.
The way Matthew crafted his Gospel to show Jesus as the new and greater Moses while weaving in those five teaching blocks is just brilliant. It makes me appreciate God’s storytelling through Scripture even more. Amen!
What a beautiful way to see Matthew’s Gospel come alive!
The five teaching sections show the true design in Matthew’s writing, revealing how carefully he structured everything to point to Christ’s fulfillment of God’s promises. This is a gift for helping children and adults understand the deeper connections in God’s Word, and I’m grateful for resources that help us see these truths more clearly.
I’ve been reading Matthew for years but never noticed how intentionally he structured everything to echo the Torah while showing Jesus as something completely new and greater.
I can see why kids would like but, but I found it equally enlightening as an adult believer seeking deeper understanding of Scripture’s interconnected narrative.
I really appreciate how this animation brings Matthew’s Gospel to life! When watching it, I was struck by how clearly it shows the connections between Jesus and Moses, and the way Matthew structured his five teaching sections. It’s remarkable to see these themes visualized in a way that makes them click in your mind.
The animation style brings these connections to life. I can see this as a valuable tool for anyone trying to help children understand the biblical narrative. It’s going in my teaching resources!
The artistic style of the animation itself stands out. Its vibrant colors and dynamic storytelling (which recalls those classic hand-drawn films we all grew up with) work together to capture the attention of viewers of all ages, making the Gospel more accessible.
This shows how creativity can be used to enhance our understanding and engagement with Scripture, making it feel alive and relevant in our modern context.
As someone who has often struggled to connect ancient scripture to modern life, seeing Jesus’ teachings play out in familiar settings like a busy coffee shop or a crowded subway touched something in my heart. I remember thinking, ‘This is exactly like the situation I faced at work last week!’
It was one of those beautiful moments where my faith journey felt less about memorizing verses from two thousand years ago and more about finding God’s wisdom in my daily life, whether dealing with a difficult colleague or choosing how to spend my weekend.
While I appreciate the video’s creative approach, I actually found the Moses-Jesus parallels a bit overemphasized.
In my reading of Matthew, what stands out more is how Jesus repeatedly challenges and transcends these Old Testament connections, showing He’s not just a ‘new Moses’ but something entirely different. The five teaching sections are interesting, but I think they’re more about showing Jesus’s unique authority than drawing parallels.
That said, I do agree the video is a helpful teaching tool, especially for introducing these concepts to newcomers.
