How Old Would Jesus Be Right Now?

How old would our Lord and Savior be if He walked among us today? We know Jesus lived on Earth some 2,000 years ago, isn’t He as timeless as the stars in the heavens? His teachings are like living water, as fresh and life-giving now as they were when He first spoke them. Perhaps, in our hearts, Jesus is both as ancient as creation and as new as each morning’s dawn.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, being eternal and divine, transcends time itself. He is as ancient as creation yet as new as each morning, forever alive and present through His teachings and in our hearts. Amen!

He’s as timeless as His love for us, yet as fresh and new as each morning’s blessing!

His timeless truth continues to shine through the ages, as brilliant now as it was when He first declared ‘I am the light of the world.’

Jesus transcends our human concept of age.

Our calendar doesn’t align perfectly with His earthly journey.

While we celebrate His birth at the turn of the year, He was likely born in the spring, perhaps around 5 BCE. Our loving Savior grew up just as we do, marking each passing year with new wisdom and grace. Though the exact dates may be uncertain, what’s most significant is the profound impact His life has had on each of us.

Wow, what a fun question about Jesus! It’s kinda tricky, though. As a Christian, I believe Jesus has always existed, even before He became a little baby. So in a way, He’s super duper old!

But it gets a bit confusing if we’re talking about Jesus as a person on Earth. He’s in heaven now, so does time even work the same there? ¯_(?)_/¯ I guess if we count from when He was born as a baby, He’d be about 2025 years old now. But some smart people think we might have gotten His birthday a little wrong.

You know, I don’t think Jesus’ age really matters in the grand scheme of things.

From what I understand, He’s eternal - existing before creation and forever after. It’s like He’s beyond time itself while we’re bound by it. During His time on Earth, Jesus lived about 33 years before His crucifixion and resurrection. But His spirit lives on eternally, watching over us.

When I read the beginning of John’s Gospel paints this beautiful picture of Jesus as the eternal Word of God. It’s comforting to think He’s still with us in spirit, even if we can’t see Him like the disciples did.

While we might think it’s as simple as counting from year 0 to 2025, there are some nuances to consider. The monk Dionysius Exiguus, who created our calendar system, used a counting method different from the one we use today. This means Jesus’ age could be off by a year or so in our modern reckoning.

As it says in Revelation 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” So in a spiritual sense, Jesus is both ageless and eternal.

Wow! Isn’t it super fun to think about Jesus in our world today? He might be sharing His happy messages on social media! Can you picture Jesus tweeting about love and kindness?

Christ transcends all temporal boundaries. He encompasses all of time - past, present, and future - in His divine nature, while maintaining that deeply personal connection with each of us through the Holy Spirit that guides and comforts us in our earthly journey.

If Jesus walked among us today, I think He’d remind us to look beyond the distractions of technology and focus on genuine human connections, similar to how guardian angels guide us toward what truly matters. In a world obsessed with screens, His presence might inspire us to listen more and judge less, encouraging a return to heartfelt conversations and community.
