Will God Forgive the Same Sin Over and Over?

There’s a physical sin I sometimes keep repeating but I struggle to stop… I feel guilty of course because I know it goes against God.

Will God forgive me if I keep committing the same sin?

There’s this fear that eventually He just stops listening after you’ve come back too many times with the same thing.

Yes. God will forgive the same sin over and over. I lived with that fear for years and I’m still bringing my own stuff to Him.

Yes. As many times as you bring it to Him. Jesus told Peter to forgive seventy times seven.

Most people stuck in a loop like this are dealing with it alone, and that’s usually what keeps it going.

Yes. Over and over. He’s still listening, even when the guilt says otherwise.

Honest and hopeful, friend. You spoke from years of living with that fear. And you’re still bringing your own struggles to God, which makes it ring true for me.

When the guilt starts saying otherwise, try praying one short honest sentence and leaving it there, trusting He heard it the first time.

Praying every day or avoiding God for weeks, the guilt showed up at the same volume when I was stuck in my own loop. It was the weight of knowing I did something wrong.

It doesn’t tell you anything about Him.

Keeping it secret only makes it stronger. In my experience the response from a mature believer you trust is a lot more gracious than people expect.

I worry that people will hear “yes” to this and just continue to sin. God doesn’t work that way.
